KCSG Junior Academy

KCSG Junior Academy

Mission - Provide supplementary training to 7v7 players focusing on technical repetition utilizing a successfully proven Gallagher Curriculum and small-sided games to allow the game to teach.  Training will foster a love and Passion for the game where players enjoy playing the beautiful game.

The Junior Academy allows the Gallagher pathway to extend and work closely with U8-U10 players looking to grow their technical base through elite and developmentally appropriate training.

Our program offers supplemental training outside your team environment and is open to any U8-U10 player regardless of club affiliation.
Players will enhance their technical skill base with the goal to further develop their confidence on the ball and technical application in a game-like setting.

What is an “Academy” in youth soccer?
The term “Academy” is often misused in the youth soccer landscape.  US Youth Soccer defines an academy as a group of players who participate in an “in-house” program made up of players or groups intending to train following a specific curriculum with the goal of making a “club” team.

In Europe, as a rule, the academy at a professional club is responsible for the training of athletes. Such players then also continue their sports career in their home club or another club.

Cambridge Dictionary defines Academy as:
“an organization intended to protect and develop an art, science, language, etc., or a school that teaches a particular subject or trains people for a particular job” or “the part of a soccer club that trains young players who might one day become part of the first team”

We intend to blend the various definitions of an “Academy” program and focus on the individual player first and foremost.  Developing a technical and tactical “base” is extremely important at young ages, and our Junior Academy will create an environment where players can play without restraints and focus on development and a passion for the game.
