Brad Davis Named as Technical Director of KC Select Soccer Club
Kansas City, MO – Brad Davis, former US Soccer Men’s National Team player, has been named Technical Director at KC Select Soccer Club. Davis, a 15-year MLS veteran and St. Louis native will lead soccer coaching operations and set Club-wide curriculum for player development. “I’m extremely excited to be joining KC Select as their Technical Director” said Davis. “This is a club with great values and a vision for the future. I look forward to building upon their foundation and continuing to create an environment that will give our players the best opportunity to be successful both on the field and in the community.”
KC Select is also implementing a new coaching structure and is conducting interviews for additional director, academy coach and staff coach positions. “It is such an honor to have a quality person like Brad Davis leading the soccer operations of our Club”, said Chris Travalent, president KC Select. “Brad’s soccer experience and stature within the soccer community will provide immeasurable benefits in developing high-quality coaches and players. Brad also believes deeply in the importance of family and community which will continue to be two of many fundamental pillars here at KC Select.”
The KC Select Soccer Club was founded in 2005 as a 501(c)3 not-for-profit serving the soccer community needs of the greater Kansas City Metro area. The Club has 1,000+ competitive players and 80+ boys and girls teams from the ages of 5-19 years old. KC Select’s core values center around Family, Education and Soccer Excellence. Our mission is to promote youth soccer development in the KC Metro area with a blended focus on individual skills training and age-appropriate tactical training. KC Select’s approach to training will allow players to play at the highest levels of youth soccer and prepare them to compete in high school, college and beyond.
Brad Davis is a St. Louis native and currently lives in Liberty, MO with his wife Heather and their 3 children. Brad played for the US Men’s National Team with 17 caps, highlighted by playing in the 2014 FIFA World Cup. Brad’s MLS career began by being selected third overall in the 2002 MLS SuperDraft by the MetroStars. Of Brad’s 15-year soccer career, he played 10 years for the Houston Dynamo winning 2 MLS Cup Championships and 4 Conference Championships. He is 3rd in career assists in the MLS, earned 6 All-Star appearances, was runner-up for 2011 MLS MVP and was named to the 2011 MLS Best XI. Brad also played professionally for the Dallas Burn, San Jose Earthquakes and Sporting KC.
